"Konya-Gulf Region Business Summit" Was Held

With the leadership of Mevlana Development Agency and Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey; and with the cooperation of Konya Chamber of Commerce, Konya Chamber of Industry and Konya Chamber of Commodity exchange, "Konya-Gulf Region Business Summit" was held with the participation of about one hundred businessmen with four days of official contacts and talks including B2B meetings.

According to the itinerary of the program, businessmen who came to Konya visited the directorate of Konya Organized Industrial zone. Mr. Ismail Unver, Coordinator of Konya Investment Support Office made a presentation about the Konya investment climate. And aslo the delegation was informed about Konya OIZ. After the visit, the businessmen went to InnoPark Technology Development Zone and examined the zone on site.

On the second day of the event, at the workshop prepared of the businessmen from the Gulf Region, a presentation was given to the guests on investment incentives by Mr.Arif Köseoğlu, Expert in Konya Investment Support Office. And also a presentation was given about energy potential of Konya by Mr.Mücahit Yasir Kınalı, Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Unit. Later, B2B meetings were made between companies from Konya and Arabian states on energy sector together with food, agriculture, agricultural machinery, shoes, automotive, construction, infrastructure, machinery production, plastics and office furniture. After, the guest delegation came together with Konya Governor Mr. Yakup Canbolat, General Director Mr. Ömer Bilen from Ministry of Development Regional Development and Structural Adjustment Department and the other protocol members at the gala dinner held within the scope of “Konya-Gulf Region Business Summit”.

On the third day of the summit, businessmen interested in renewable energy paid a visit to Karapinar Industrial Zone Specialized on Energy and the area (Karapinar Renewable Energy Source Zone) whose bid was finished on previous months. Another delegation interested in food industry and agriculture also visited a prominent company within these fields in Turkey and held business meetings.

During the four days program, all of the guests from the Gulf Region visited many firms work on energy, food, agriculture, agricultural machinery, shoes, automotive, construction, infrastructure, machinery, plastics, furniture and had the opportunity of learning about products and services.

Additionally, Vice-Chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Ziad Bassam Al-Bassam visited our city with the delegation and paid a visit to Konya Chamber of Commerce, Konya Chamber of Industry, Konya Chamber of Commodity Exchange and various companies. He also pointed out the international cooperation and remarked its importance.

Furthermore, a special travel program was held especially for the press members and social media celebrities for the promotion of our region.
