A study visit has been conducted by Mevlana Development Agency between 30 November-6 December to England, visiting the cities of London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
The delegation included the Governor of Konya Mr. Muammer EROL, Head of Konya Chamber of Commerce Mr. Selçuk ÖZTÜRK, Secretary-General of Mevlana Development Agency Mr. Ahmet AKMAN and coordinators and experts of Konya and Karaman Investment Support Offices.
In London, where is one of the global financial centres, we have met with commercial counsellor Mr. Aytuğ GÖKSU first, getting informed about British economy and Turco-British trade relations. Then we visited Tower Hamlet City Council, followed by a diner at the residence of Mr. Abdurrahman BİLGİÇ, ambassador to the United Kingdom.
The next day we visited London Chamber of Commerce, London&Partners and Turkish-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informing the institutions on our region but also exploring cooperation opportunities. We had a dinner meeting with Yunus Emre Institution Director Mr. Mehmet ŞEN which also saw the participation from representatives of Turkish community in London.
In Birmingham we visited Mr. Tankut AYDIN, Commercial Attaché to Birmingham and also visited Lord Mayor Shafique SHAH. During the meetings we informed our hosts about our region.
